This grade II listed 17th-century building, viewed here from the south, was a private chapel until 1870 when it became a parish church. The gritstone used for the walls almost certainly came from the nearby Stanton Moor Quarry. The three stained glass windows were fabricated for and donated to the church by artist Brian Clarke in 1977.
