Roberts Temple Church of God in Christ in Bronzeville, Chicago was the site of Emmett Till's open-casket funeral in 1955. Photos of his mutilated body led to widespread outrage, galvanizing the Civil Rights Movement. The site is designated as part of the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument, as well as a Chicago Landmark.
